Just a thought but is it possible that the notch is there to make a manufacturing process easier?

I never saw in the old catalogs "Barber's Notch", only "hollow point".
I think, Barber's Notch is professional phrase of barbers.Alex Ts.

In the continuation of the thread.
I've found "Barber(Bullet) point" in the catalog of 1929 with Genco razors.
Now a question.
Have you seen something like that?
