Wow, thanks Glen! That is a wealth of information. Especially the leaning shot (no balance open shot) part. Now I know about collecting but personally I'd much rather a cleaned inside and out razor (if it needs it) that is SHAVE READY. Cheers, beautiful work again!

Perfetto. This should go somewhere more permanent than this thread. Maybe an article on buying razors (along with info from the eBay 101 thread).

Nice razor by the way. Very nice razor.

Stellar outcomes Glen .. Love a satin finished blade too. Much more practical & no blinding reflection.

Beautiful work as always Glen! Those beauties would make a welcome addition to any collection!

Thanks for your perspective on taking photos, I never looked at it that way. I've always tilted and leaned the razors in my shots to adjust the light reflections in my limited home made light box and lighting sources. While Jr and I also use a tube to stabilize the blade so the razor doesn't move during the shoot it does not reflect on the tightness of the scales but I guess tightness is a relative term. If and when I ever decide to get serious about selling razors I will be sure to take your tips into consideration.

    That is the proof shot...
There is a ton of info in the stupid shot, we are showing you that the scales are built tight and square Note there is nothing holding the razor open and the razor is standing alone above, to do that the scales have to be built even and the razor has to open straight and the pins are tight...
See these factory scales fail on the "EVEN" part... The razor will sit in the closed position, but are just a touch off, so when the razor is open it will tip over...
Hence the "leaning shot" I have it leaning against something, either on the scales or standing on the blade and toe... No big deal on factory scales, because we don't expect as much from them...
Anyway I hope that helps some on your E-baying and razor shopping

Very nice, I agree for my "shave ready" collection I want them cleaned and polished. I have a few Bokers in my collection, I am yet to shave with one. Im sure they will be great shavers when your done with them.
