Lightbulb J.A. Henckles bringing back the Sr8? Anyone know of this?

    Hello,

I was browsing the web again while at work and came across this site.

ZWILLING J.A. HENCKELS :: News / Events :: The perfect shave for the well-groomed gentleman

Anyone know if this is true and if so where I can buy them new?

    James

You can buy them online from Germany. They have been available for quiet a while now.

I'm pretty sure I read that these are being made by DOVO for Henckels

They have been available all the time. The only difference is a larger choice of scales. The new Friodurs are very expensive, look here for cheaper and larger Friodurs:

Interesting. There are thousands of these around. This eBay seller apparently has more than just a few, and at USD 110, these are very nice razors (a few of us bought about 10, and they were all good):

I've wondered why that seller never publishes widths but only the lengths of his (razor) blades. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the product but still... Always nice to know if those Henckels are 7/8 or 8/8.

Well, apparently these come from the fabled cache of 4,000 (according to another source, 6,000) 7/8 Friodurs. The ones we got had nondescript, but functional, scales and a good factory edge that only needed a little finishing to get them shave ready. At 100 (or, by now, 110), I consider them an good deal for a 7/8 stainless steel razor. Mine is a keeper in any event. Here is the review: http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...point-nos.html
