Carl Klaas any relation to Robert Klaas?
I just picked up a razor thinking Klaas great I've heard they are good razors then I got back here to do a little research and found that the Klaas that everyone here seems to have and think so highly of is Robert Klaas. The razor I found is a Carl Klaas.
The marking on the shank says - front: CARL KLAAS SOLINGEN 52 1/2
back: is a little crescent moon shape with the word KA-CE with what looks like an arrow going through it. It also says MADE IN GERMANY.
I've done a little research but don't seem to be coming up with anything. Anyone have any info on these? I'll try to get a pic up soon.
Thanks for any help.

According to this, they're different makers. Yours is a Solingen though and if in decent nick will surely be a good razor.

Maybe Manah will have some more info on it but IIRC Robert Klaas goes back to the 1700s or somewhere around there and made swords and other cutlery as well as razors. The two "kissing cranes" were always stamped on Klaas cutlery.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
