I've got some Graphite penetrating spray I use on my bike chain, will that do?

I think it is rust so will need to be buffed out probably

for the small area on the tang MASS and a toothpick or sharp chopstickj
to focus on the small area... Also unwaxed dental floss to get under
the scales.... BE GENTLE

Finish up with a drop of penetrating oil and then a preservative oil
you will forget to dry it again... so make sure the pivot stays lightly
oiled. WD-40 can displace any water that lurks under the scales
and around the pin.
