    Default non-Case Red Imp

I won this auction last night

    ebay item # 290431863745

Its a Red Imp 133, but the stamp says that it was made by Ludo Shear and Razor Works, Soligen - Germany.

I thought that Red Imps were made by Case. Anyone else see anything like this before?

Glen do you like the lightly ground wedge red imps as well?

hmmm. Sounds like this is a great opportunity to try out some red G10. I don't know if the off yellow/butterscotch scales work on a Red Imp

Not a fair question Lee, I am not all that personally fond of shaving with "wedgies"

But as to the steel /edge / performance / honing.... yes they are top notch !!!

I haven't gotten any of the Red Imps yet but a friend of mine has examples of all of them and speaks very highly of them. Good shavers all.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

The three Glen mentions are the one's I'm familiar with as Red Imp makers.

I have an 11/16ths Case 132 Imp and a Union Spike. Both are wedges, although more like a quarter hollow. Personally I love the shave from these razors.

I have a Ludo-make Red Imp. It shaves very well, I may dig her out and use it today!
