I've found recently in selling a few of my better razors on Ebay that IMO there is a huge disparity between a very few well known brands (WB, Dubl Duck and I guess Filarmonica) in popularity and demand in comparison to probably countless other brands from Sheffield, Solingen and the U.S. in the number of views the razors get and the number of people who watch the auctions.

In a seven day period, hundreds of people will view Wade & Butcher razors with about half that number watching the auctions.

Fine examples from makers like Robeson, Cattaraugus, Torrey, Otto Busch and even Boker are dwarfed in popularity by the few makers I mention and even overlooked.

Since the less popular brands are absolutely high quality makers, that tells me that there is a lack of education and knowledge on the part new enthusiasts which naturally, makes sense.

Personally, even just talking about Sheffield blades, I'm much more interested in G and J Wostenholms, Mappins, Elliots, Shepherds, B. Worth and others than I am Wade & Butcher, but to each their own.

    It's interesting to me though.

    ....snip....
Yet I in the the last two or three weeks I picked up three WB that were
about $20 to my door. Serious patina but solid razors
    none the less.

And you are so correct that other brands are often overlooked.
My favorite shaver this week is a "Comfort FRIEDR BAURMANN"
that was less than $19 to the door or is it my "A F TOWLE"
for less than $11 to the door.

All required a couple hours of attention with some 2K wet dry and
MAAS then a trip over the hones but hey.

Normally I would not mention what I found and liked for but I am
well over budget and tired of sneaking out to be first
    at the mail box.

I have spent hours hunting both online and in shops, and there are deals to be found.
As others have mentioned, you need to be willing to spend the time looking for them.
