    Default The cheap one!

Hi, reading on here a lot of folk seem to have a favorite razor, but what is your cheapest favorite razor, the one you still use but did not cost a lot?

I only have about 25 razors, most of them some what expensive.
I have bought a few lower priced ones just to practice honing on.
One of them is a near wedge 5/8 Hunter & son, sheffield.
I paid no more than $25 for it.
It is actually a really good shaver and will remain in my rotation for a long time.
There's absolutely deals to be had out there

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

A large number of my razors where under $15, many under $8. Remembering what any one cost taxes my memory circuts a bit to much...

I have a rule, now, that my max bid on eBay is $20, and that's only for really nice lookers. I have spent more in the past to get some names (Henckles, DD, Boker, W&B) and now I'm focusing on the American steel that people seem to neglect. Those the the ones I'm getting for <$15, mostly. I have a Union with green pearl scales and a spotless blade that turned out to be one of my best shavers. I also picked up a "National Barber Supply" razor for <$10 that also turned out to be superb.

I have a Geneva Cutlery that I paid $7 for.... But I guess the best edge-to-price razor I have is my Bengall, which I paid $15 for and is just about my #1 razor.

My cheapest and best shaver for the price is this one i restored.
Cost about 4 bucks including cost of acrlyic. It was in a batch of about 7 razors and some scales for around $30.00.

Before I gifted it to my dad, I had an old ERN that cost me £20 that was a sweet shaver. I also snagged an old Sheffield wedge on eBay the other day, and that was about £18. I've cleaned and polished it up but not honed it yet, and I'm hoping that will be my next cheapie but goodie!

I have been lucky so far with prices so all mine would be considered cheap.. though my best razor right now is not technically a straight but a microtome that just happened to be 1/2 hollow ground by Bausch & Lomb.
