What a wonderful, considerate wife! Mine just complains about all my shaving stuff....

    oops, sorry honey!

Seriously though, in addition to vintage finds via the classifieds there are several vendors, most of which advertise here, that sell new razors too. Classic Shaving, Vintage Blades, Rasage Poulin and Straight Razor Designs, just to name a few. Razors can be a very personal thing, so without knowing what he likes or already owns it can be tough to make a specific recommendation

A huge +1 on the "personal thing" Ryan mentioned above. I'm so picky about razors that when my GF contacted some of my good friends here on the forum (yup, cat's out of the bag), many simply told her that I'm so picky she'd be better off choosing something else.

One option would be to set him a budget and let him pick for himself. I know it's not the same, but then if he doesn't like it he only has himself to blame (:-)).

I've gotta be honest, I had a Livi new grind and while it was an outstanding tool with an outstanding performance, it bored me. Full hollow, 6/8, round point - just nothing exciting there for me.

Sorry she's mine. I don't share well with others.
She actually ordered me two vintage blades from holli4pirating, one restored from gssixgun and next week after payday we are making a hone order from srd I just don't know what set up I want I'm leaning towards the naniwa superstones.
