The ONE you would NEVER give up!
Fellow shave-a-holic's:
In the past months, Burns420 started a great thread about your "Holy Grail" of razors (acquired or desired) along with a great follow-up by Obie, both of which were a lot of fun.
Apologies if this may have been run at some point in the past, but what is the ONE razor in your existing collection that you would simply NEVER let go? If a burgler with a razor fetish made off with your entire collection, what is the ONE razor you would pray he leave behind? More importantly, why is this one razor so very important? Is it a family heirloom or have some special history to it, or is it simply your best shaver?
For me, it's an easy choice. Back for my 30th birthday, my father gave me a Bergischer Löwe. It's a lovely razor and it gives a very nice shave, but the fact that my father knew of my passion for shaving and went hunting for just the perfect razor is something I will never forget. As such, I would never, ever let go of this razor for any price.
So, gentlemen: If you could only keep one, what would be your selection?

I find that really hard to answer I must admit..!
I really love my Iwasaki Kamisori as my girlfriend created an account here and did loads of research to get me one for my birthday. And its a divine shaver.
I wouldnt want my limited edition Wacker taken, because... well... its limited edition (only 16 ever made) and its my most expensive razor. Its also an incredible shaver.
I wouldnt want any of my oldies taken as they're great shavers and also a limited quantity. I also like the history thats attached to them.
And I wouldnt give up the Black Star as it was my first razor.... And I couldnt give up the Edelweisse because thats my only Boker and a great shaver.... And then theres the Bismarck, shoulderless and very pretty...
They're mine, ALL MINE I TELLS YA!!!!!
Yeah, Ok, I have RAD!
I cant pick one, I just cant. But the two I'd hope he'd leave would be the Kamisori and the Wacker. The rest, dear God it would hurt, but I could track down replacements for. Or very close matches in the case of some of the oldies.
I just pray I (and everyone else here) is never in a position to have to make that choice!

Vintage Straight Razors : T. Hessen Bruch Co : 7/8 : Half Hollow Ground : Faux Tortoise
I've bought quite a few razors since then, but this is still my favorite. More loved than the Wusthof, Jaguar, ERN, Dovo, or the 3 NOS Fillies purchased on the 'bay.
The 1/2 hollow at this size gives great feedback, and the edge is beautifully crisp and smooth.
Ask me again after I get "The Purist."

My Robert Williams Damascus with pre-ban elephant ivory scales of course.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

If i was to loose all but one razor, then it would be Jernbolaget from Eskilstuna Sweden.
Most razors i have look better, have fancier scales or blade etchings and costed more but this little old Swede is my best shaver with no doubt.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'
