9/8 c-mon blackie
I thought I would share a new razor I picked up. It is a C-Mon Blackie. It is in very good condition, the spotting you see is a remnant of the where I am taking the picture and there is a bit of soap haze due to our hard water. It has been honed once and is a great shaver. I did not do the initial honing, basically I hit it with 5 trips on a natural La Rose hone that I got from same collection and did a few trips on a strop from the same collection.
This is a big razor the pictures have a Geo. Wostenholm & Sons Celebrated IXL for comparison, it too is from the same collection and is a great shaver.Last edited by scrapcan; 05-28-2010 at 07:03 PM.

Very nice. I recently picked up an 8/8's square point. Must be they are finding their way into the wild. It's about time! Congrats on a great score.

Gorgeous. You guys are lucky. I am fortunate to have a 6/8 that is a great shave. Those vintage C-Mons are among the best IMO.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 3164That's a beautiful score!
Funnily enough, I have honed a couple of C'Mon Blackies lately - 5/8ths - both lovely razors. The guy I honed them for managed to get about 20 or so of them as a job lot.
Must be C'Mon time!

Neil

Holy cow, what a nice chopper! I had no idea that Charles Monkhouse ever made any monsters like that, among the great line of C-MON razors. They are great shavers, and I can only imagine how nice a 1 inch + blade is to shave with. Congratulations.
