    Default EIG Cultery, Boltening Germany?

One of my students says his dad is sending him a straight razor labeled "EIG Cutlery from Germany (Boltening) model 1001" and he's asked me if I know anything about this make.

I've searched and so far come up dry, so wondered if this learned body of elders in the art could enlighten me on this make of straight razor.

I hope I've not missed an obvious search or resource--if so, apologies offered in advance!

Goins' Encyclopedia has only a very brief listing with just the estimated dates of operation being from 1960 to 1980. There was also an EIG Italy and an EIG Japan with the same dates. Sorry, no further information. Hopefully you or your student will be able to provide us with some photos and a critique after it arrives.

    Regards - Walt

A search on AlltheWeb.com (exact phrase EIG Cutlery) discloses a few links on items made by this firm as well as a completed live auction of 4 straights, one of which was an EIG.

Ironically, I received in the mail today an EIG Cutlery #1001 Solingen MONSTER. 15/16 worked spine beauty. Close to 4 years after my last post trying to help a member out.

The other two were the pick of then 6 razor lot litter as well, a NOS Fritz Bracht Dovo 98 and a H. Geo. Henry Germany Wedge
