Griffons claim to fame, their "Carbo Magnetic" razor! Apparently in the day metal hardening methods were not as precise as they are today and Griffon discovered a way to heat treat their blades by running electrical current through the blades instead of using a heat treating furnace. The side effect of this hardening technique was it also magnitized the blade hence the name!
They claimed this produced an extremely hard ("flint like") blade edge that rarely needed honing. I currently own 5 of their razors and these, as well as most I have seen in pictures, have very little (sometimes none) honing wear, even though theyre over 100 years old! So maybe they were on to something! All of mine are awesome shavers and hold their edge very well!
