In '06 I was getting out of collecting straigts and related stuff. I sold three Belgian coticules that I had had for 20 years.

I also sold a stub tail stamped Greaves ( no & sons) with Sheaf Works pressed into the scales and a minty dubl duck Special # 1 with a 6/8 square point blade. Still had blue on the tang and maybe the spine IIRC.

Edit; that would be 2006..... not 1906

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I was just thinking about this today. I sold a razor last year..I must have been out of my mind. Of the 200+ razors I have, this was one of my favorites. Please come home to papa...

I bought a few straights that I never plan to sell and thought the seller may want them back some day - NOT! After getting my Dovo. NO 55 with Micarta Scales, it doubled in price becuase of the fancier scales being put on them. Over the long run, it has proven itself to be an outstanding shaver.

So far I've not sold any that I regret. I sold a Torrey in the classifieds, and gave an ERN to my dad, but other than that I have all the ones I've bought so far.

I did buy a couple with the idea of PIFing them or selling them to get people started, but since I tried them I found I really like them both so I'm keeping them..!

    Yeah, I have RAD lol!

One got away from me too.
It was late at night, I was bidding but had my eye on another as well. I knew it was going to be expensive but I was willing to pay twice what it went for. For some reason or another the next thing I knew it was gone. Fortunately it was bought by a member but it is the one razor I will never forget.
    Here it is:

Amund has had it rescaled and it looks even better now in carbon graphite.

If you ever want to sell it Amund please please please...
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

in my short honing experience i have seen only 1 razor that edge will bend front of my eyes and come back slowly .(100x magnification)
it was made ERN. I am not sure which model etc.
at that time i thought all ERN will do this and i sold that razor. haven't seen any second razor (including ern's) which edge will do the same thing.

The picture reminds me 1 of my blade which is made ern i will look around if i find will post pic's of it.

I think it's probably a somewhat odd looking slater brothers beehive razor. I sold it to a new person who was looking for something cool for a restoration project and that seemed perfect and I didn't think I'll have time for it myself.
I should've just honed it and tried it as it didn't have any active rust, plus I sold it for what I paid for it, so the only thing I got out of that razor is the satisfaction of making a new member happy. Which is not bad at all, but I should've shaved at least once with it.

Ray, on the plus side MK31s are not too hard to get, I've probably had around 15 of them, the most multiples I've had of any razor (yes I'm a bit addicted, but I can quit anytime).

Ouch! That had to hurt, brother I feel your pain!

I sold a DD Goldedge that was at least 95%, I still kick myself!
