Hey there,
Yeah that's me. Sudestahl is my custom razor brand, which will come alive in the next few months. We'll have custom razors, ceramic scuttles and merino wool-felt strops - though the main focus will be releasing high quality custom made straights, hand crafted here in South Africa.
'Sudestahl' is derived from the French word for South and the German word for Steel - 'SouthSteel' if you will. A nod to the historic significance of those two razor producing countries.
I'll make a noise when the wheels are officially turning.
Cheers,
- Mike.

I remember when you said you were getting into customs, but I didn't realize you were going bigtime like this. I hope things are moving along well, and I can't wait to see what you put out. Best of luck.

Great news! Thanks for the information Mike. I wish you all success in your endeavor. I had been checking back on the website url and thought I would finally ask where I had a pretty good idea I would get an answer.

Funny enough, I've long thought that merino wool felt would make a great strop material... and now you're making them!
The razors would be of great interest too, of course. Please keep us posted!

At least your razor won't get itchy while you're stropping
