Default Diamond Hayashi 6/8 Japanese 1/4 grind

Wondering if anyone has one of these and if so, what their opinions of it are.

Rasurpur has them at the bottom of this page. I'm looking for something as close to a 6/8 Le Grelot 1/4 grind as possible. Apparently though these don't have a thumb rest and are much heavier.

    Any thoughts / opinions everyone?

I have the hollow #8000, and shaves just great , swedish steel is top quality.
Seth has a few razors by the maker:

the price is kind of high though.

    the price is ridiculous though.
Thanks for that useful (and awfully fast!) response.

I've not used Sweedish steel before (actually I may have had an Innox stainless when I first started shaving). Nonetheless, I agree they are expensive, hence why I'm asking. I also want to be sure if I get another wedge (or near enough), it's going to be on a par with my Le Grelot 1/4 grind.

I wonder if it's worth getting another Le Grelot 6/8 with a 3/4 to full grind. I have one of those and it's quite good, but not the best. Rasurpur also has a stainless Innox full hollow which is much more affordable but as it's not a name I know, I can't say for sure whether I'd go for that.

These are NOT wedgey at all. They're hollow ground. Not singing, but let's say 7/8 hollow.

    And for 240 euros....wow. That's up there...

Well that does it then - I'm going to rule them out - there's no way I'm paying over the odds for it.

I have one on the way. I will post a review when I get a few shaves on it. I have the 1/4 Le Grelot and 1/4 Hart so I am really interested to compare the group.

I have that razor at the moment, and will be shaving with her today or tomorrow. The razor is not 7/8 hollow, I'd say it's between half and quarter hollow, but check the photo and decide for yourself. It is a pretty hefty blade, but the part about that being the reason for the match in the photo is, IMO, totally inaccurate. I've had some big, heavy wedges that will sit open. These things just are not all that tight at the pivot out of the factory - I'm guessing to help preserve the covered tang, but maybe it's a sign of an imperfect "fit & finish." Something else that would suggest a less than perfect fit & finish is the state of the edge out of the box. Granted, I can only speak for mine, but unlike all the new Dovo's I've honed, this razor actually needed to see a 1k to set the bevel - I was unable to start on the 5k like I would for a new Dovo.

I have that razor. It is a pleasure to look at and to shave with. At the tax free price on that offer I would think it is $50.00 over the market. No one can predict the future value for these.

I officially love Hayashi's. I shaved with the blade above (the H Diamond) and also one of their framebacks tonight. Both are insanely smooth shavers. I'd recommend one any day, so long as you don't mind slightly loose scales or can tighten them.

Added bonus - the covered tang makes the tang feel wider and meater, which I love.

Six out of my seven shavers are Hayashi's. One is a Hashimoto. But they are all Japanese made.

I had one of the ones listed in the OP and I really liked it but I gave it away as a gift to someone.

As for the grind I would call it a 1/2 hollow. But that is just me.
