Thanked: 0Puma, what this worth?
Hello everyone, I have a Puma 89 Special that I bought 15-18 years ago and was wondering what she's worth.
I'm not planning on selling it since it was the first straight razor I learned to shave with. Just wonder what it's worth.
Thanks for any help.

Thanked: 3795This forum does not do valuation assessments.
There is a tendency of first time posters to join, ask what their razor is worth, and then to disappear. I will hope that you are an exception and that you will take the time to explore what this site has to offer.

Thanked: 0Mark- thanks for the info. and thanks for saying she looks good, but she's in need of a good cleaning.
Utopian -Not a problem,
I must have missed it in the rules.
As for exploring the site, I have, and there seems to be alot of good info.
As for posting a lot, that just not me. If I can answer a question, I happily will. If I have a question, I will ask. Other then that, I use the search function most of the time.
Thanks again.

The Puma looks quite nice, but yeah we don't really do appraisals here.
Welcome to SRP though.

Thanked: 0I'm not looking for a appraisal. Just a rough idea (ie: 50,75,100,ect.) . Since I'm not looking to buy or sale, I don't really have a idea of the value.
Can either of you point me in a direction, where I can get an idea of the value.

Well, you can look on ebay and see what similar razors are currently (or recently) selling for. Of course, ebay is finicky and sometimes the same razors sell for vastly different amounts, but still you can have an idea of what the free market thinks.
And incidentally the same razor is worth different amount to different people. For example I've seen razors in the classifieds sell for anything from 1/3 or 3x of what I think they are worth. I just don't think it's possible to get anything close to an objective 'worth' quote on an internet forum. Even if you're looking for a ballpark. There are way too many factors that change overnight.

Thanked: 0gugi - I did search ebay and such, but to be honest the price varies widely and each razor listed is a different model. If there was a handful of the same model I could get an idea of the value but that just not the case but I to apreciate you taking the time of explain the site's side.
Thanks,
It clear I have asked the wrong question and I'll leave it at that.
