Damascus Razor
Dear Friends,
I was wondering if there are any affordable Damascus Razors out there. I've checked ebay and there are quite allot but I doubt the quality.
I've been a damascus knife retailer for a while and I would be a personal dream come true to shave with a damascus razor.
I'm on a budget so I can't afford hundreds of dollars, keep that in mind

I don't think you will find a decent pattern-weld razor for cheap...
If you do, post the vendor here because there are a LOT of guys who would jump all over it.
It seems like you get what you pay for when it comes to new razors, IMO.

Thanked: 190Damascus straight razors seem to be very limited in availability and sell at a premium price due to it being a special requested item.
But you never know, so keep an eye out for them.

I have to agree with joke1176 and Pabster. It is unlikely that you'll find a good Dam cheap. OTOH, do keep your eyes open. I saw a Zowada on the bay when I was perusing the listings this morning. I got one at a fairly reasonable price from the bay a year or so ago. A few hundred cheaper than it would have been through the vendor who sells Tim's excellent razors. I also got a Livi Dam off the bay on a buy it now at a considerably reduced price and it was perfect with no wear. Might never have been used.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

You never know what may show up on Eboy. Maybe someone doesn't know what they have and mistitles it and you get a bargin. Several years ago I got a razor that had been listed as a generic straight and was mis titled and the picture was so fuzzy you couldn't see anything. I got the thing and was the only bidder and it turned out to be a Puma 89 in mint condition. I paid $35.00 for it.

You will not find a quality custom Damascus razor for a lowball price, sorry! On the other hand, you get what you pay for. A Zowada or Livi will not go cheaply on eBay, but would be a good investment because they would retain value and be great shavers(after the current recession is over!). If you see any inexpensive "damascus" pattern welded steel razors on eBay that are new, they are most likely of Pakistani origin, and are worthless for shaving. My .02 cents worth. I do own a Zowada 7/8 Spanish point, and love it. It cost dearly, though!
