Default Romuso Robert Muller and Sohn?

Hello Gentlemen, You guys are the best and most knowledgeable on identifying razors. I have a Romuso straight razor. I am trying to decipher the circa and what can't be read on the tang of the razor. What I can read is Romuso (quote marks to the right and left, but on the left the quote marks are dropped down. Is this a flaw? a good flaw?) On the same of the tang it says made in Germany. Now the other side is the side I need help with. It is faint but if you tilt it towards the light you can make out Robert ......hn. I can see some faint words in the middle that can't be read and then below that Made in Germany also faint. The side with Romuso is very readable. I have Standard guide to razors and can not find the maker in this book. I have tried to find info online and the closest I came is finding the name Robert Muller and Sohn, but no information. The handle or scales have 3 pins. Besides the blade being darker (patina). It is very good condition. Any ideas on the maker, circa. Have any of you heard of the razor before? I know I am asking the men in the know. I hope you can help. Thank you for your time.

Sorry, but I can't find any additional information about your razor in my references. It's probably a razor made on consignment to a wholesaler by an unknown German manufacturer.

Default Romuso... Robert Muller and Sohn Merscheid?

Thank you for your time. I probably grasping at straws. I was looking at the picture I sent you of the side that's hard to read. I can see the hn top row. You can also read Robert if you are holding it. Second row at the end eid. When I typed that into the internet search. I came up with Robert Muller & Sohn and on a webpage for RZM markings on german daggers during world war two for german soldiers .... Robert Muller and Sohn Merscheid. Do you think it could be the same maker. How could I find out if they made straight razors and if this is one of theirs?

The "Goins' Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings" doesn't list a Robert Muller. They note an Aug. Muller (c. 1955), an H. Muller (c 1909 - 22), and a Muller & Schmidt (1896 - present). There were many razor makers in Germany in the last century, most of whose names have been lost over the years. Just an occasional razor bearing their name to tantalize us and make us wonder who they were. Maybe some of our European members can come forward with some additional information. Good luck in your search.

    Regards - Walt
