I picked up one of these too. It was in slightly worse shape than yours, and there were some pits on the edge.

A little work with a botan, and mejiro nagura on an Asagi and the pits were gone (not without some hone wear). Then it was honed to shave-readiness on my Suita.

Waiting to shave with it tomorrow.

When i received this razor i decided to purchase a set of cheap hones off the 'bay and at least practice on a couple western razors that were beyond restoration, after a while i had them sharp enough for a shave (but with large chips and cracks) and i managed to keep the excess hone wear to a minimum and the edge stayed even. I considered this small venture into the world of honing a success, which lead me to purchase a couple kamisoris from eBay and restore the edge to shave-ready. they managed to hold an edge much sharper and smoother than my other razors, so i dropped my balls and lay this fine tamahagane razor on the stones and lapped away. i believe it can be better but it is on par with my mastro livi j-style razor.
Trust me, it looks much better in person with a mirrored edge and most of the visible marks in the photo are not visible. To say i am proud of myself for this achievement is an understatement.
