The ugliest duck in the world
I don't really think much more can be done to clean this monster up. Unfortunately, there is that chip near the heal that will need to be honed out. There were lots of other little chips, but I already removed them. Luckily, all the pitting is way up the spine - I think this must have been next to another razor that had cell rot or something...
Anyway, here's my DD Lifetime

Thanked: 1936More than likely you don't have much in it & it should be a good shaver even though it is only a "face" a mother could love. I'd try to talk you out of it if I had the time to work on it...

Did that razor have any traces of bluing on it? Does it have the duck logo or by chance does it have a rooster on it? Those scales were used alot on those models.

Yep that's it. That's the rooster duck. It's one of the earliest razors they made though yours seems to say Bresduck. I have the same one though mines NOS and is Bresduck also. It should be blued all over. I find it's shaving quality is not as good as the other ducks. The only one that doesn't shave so hot I've seen, well not that it doesn't shave so hot it really does but it doesn't go as many shaves between honings as the others.
If we could figure out who owns that rooster logo we could figure out who made it. I suspect it's U.S made or at least mine doesn't say where it's made.Last edited by thebigspendur; 07-12-2010 at 12:43 AM.
