    Default Venus Straight Razors

    Howdy all,

I was just searching around online for straight razors and came across this brand.

Has anyone tried these razors or have any info on them at all?

It's junk. If you want a bargain, try the classifieds here.

Angry They're Out of This World

But they're coated with zirconium and they're all nice and shiny and iridescent! Just check out the clone of the "Magic" and "Vincent" disposable razors, the kind that has a hollow blade holder that can fit DE blades broken in half. They charge how much? 7-10 dollars at Sally's Beauty Supply. I got my Vincent for 7 plus shipping on eBetray.

The thing about those Venus razors that amuses me is the titanium coating that is supposed to give it a stronger/harder/sharper edge.

Now think about what honing involves. The first step is setting a bevel, in which you remove steel from the area near the edge in order to form a "V" shape at the edge. When you're done with that step do you know what you don't have at the edge? The titanium coating.

As you can read by linking that thread that Otto gave you then link again in there, these are shaveable BUT not recommended to buy...

So this is one of those don't buy one, but if you already made that mistake and have one, then make the best of it and hone it up...
I have since honed two more for people that made the mistake of buying one....

Pakistani crapola! Don't get one if you actually want to shave with it!
