Interesting article. Judging by that, and the veritable avalanche of newbies in the Beginners section every day (including, just a few weeks ago, yours truly), more and more men are chucking the whole expensive, multi-blade, 'revolutionary,' 'high-tech' merry go-round. I remember the same thing happening for years with toothbrushes and dental care aids. The commercials during the Christmas holidays always make for some interesting viewing re the latest shaving and dental care gadgets. Heck, my wife and two sons think I'm an old fuddy-duddy for being perfectly content with the "freebie" toothbrushes I get at checkups, instead of the silly battery-operated ones they all use.
There are many roads to sharp.

Wow the first guy mentioned in the article can go a whole 4 years without buying a new razor, how impressive...
i do have to say, though, before I switched to straights, I started stocking up on the pivoting disposables I liked. I had already tired of the Gillette, mach * merry-go-round. Of course, I now have about 30 of them.
