Thanked: 7Heartbreak
Every time I go fishing I pass a cute little antique shop, but never stop because it's usually closed or I'm in a rush to beat breakfast time. Today however I noticed that they advertise knives bought and sold. Feeling that to be a good sign I stopped in and asked if she had any straights. She said no, and my heart sunk a little, so I asked if she regularly carries them. She said yes and my heart soared. Then she said that while she does usually carry them her husband is a retired barber and keeps almost every one that comes in. He apparently has in the neighborhood of a thousand and doesn't let them go, ever. My heart is a little broken and I feel so disillusioned I just may cry. Maybe not that much but close to it. Just felt like sharing my pain, they say it's good to talk about it.

Tenacity, Tenacity is the key. Keep going back to that little antique store and keep inquiring if they have any straights. Inquire if it would be possible to speak with her husband. Befriend him. Use the straights to get to know him. If you get in there good, he might be willing to part with some of them if he knows that you will use them. If not, then you have made a friend and one that may really know his stuff.

Keep in touch, the old guy will croak one of these days!
