    Talking Henry Sears&Son, 1865, Prussia - "QUEEN"

I picked this little guy up from LarryAndro for 24 USD. It was discounted because of the short blade, which appears to have been ground down at some point. I thought it was really interesting that the tang says "Prussia", which as most of you will know is Imperial/Tzarist Germany.

    Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?

That will be sweet once it is cleaned up. Enjoy it!

I would give my eye teeth for another blade made in Prussia

I shaved with it today-it was ridiculously good. The blade was exceptionally smooth on the face. I sort of forgot what I was doing; probably not a good thing when you're holding a razor.

'Just found one in NEW condition. No hone wear, perfect mirror finish. Still passed the TNT and show NO hone wear. Amazingly preserved. I have another beautiful one in similar condition that's a shoulderless french point. That one is an incredible shaver. I expect this one will be too. This last one also says 'Prussia' on the shank, which also sports the mirror finish. I'm pretty excited about it.

In Portland, OR. The shop was dark. I could tell it was in good shape, but couldn't tell HOW good. When I got home, I couldn't believe it. I'm going to go back and give that shop owner more money for it - if for no other reason than so she'll remember me and let me know when something special comes in. I left my contact info and preferences.

I don't often finish on a Coti, but this blade is the first that I'd say borders on too sharp from a coti. I usually have to go to a jnat to get sharp enough (my skill/stroke limitation - others do it easily). It may be only 2 blades, but Henry Sears & Sons are fabulous in my book. 'Wouldn't think of selling either.

    Thats brilliant!
I've yet to find any shops in my area that have any razors. What was it - a curio shop?
