Default Green lizard and possible restoration

Hello I have a green lizard that I aquired after my Great Grandfather passed away. It has a little chip on the blade and tarnished or rust spots. Is it worth trying to save and if so who could do it. Would possibly use it as a second razor, currently looking to buy a complete beginner set up

you should post some pictures so we could really give you a proper answer...
But if's really not a big chip, I don't see why not.
ideally go to the classified section, there are a lot of people in the forum who do restoration work, just send them an PM, with pictures and description of what you want done.

I tried to take pics of the nic but could not get it to show up using macro. Sorry, hope that means its an easy fix. I might also say that I am a knife dealer and I get pretty good deals on Dovo, they just would not be shave ready. Thought of using the local barber to assist here if he was willing.
I would still have to pick up the rest of the gear. Was also thinking about getting the Truefitt & Hill sampler pack. I like to have a little variety before I make a purchase. Also seen the samplers at SRD

The Green Lizard was made by Cattaraugus out of Little Valley NY started in 1886 and lasting until 1963
They are one of the many Case Brothers companies...
On the back side of the tail is going to be a number probably 131 A,B,or C that tells you about when it as made...
If the Lizard is in good shape she will be hard to beat shaving wise... I own two of them a matched pair of 131B's that will never leave my collection...

Hope that helps you out a bit

The Lizards were a late production for Cattaraugus in the first place and then add in the D and you probably are in the 50's...

Since you're very new to this, I am going point out the "probably", there is very very little truly accurate info about straight razors to be found... So much of it is guess work...Every now and then somebody finds a dated piece of material that helps nail things down a bit...
