    Question Questions about this razor?....

    Hey everybody,
I am new to straight razors and absolutely love the shave they give. I just had my uncle give me this razor and I know zilch about it so I thought I'd ask the pros!

    It is a C-MON No 7
    Ice tempered
    Stainless

on the back side of the blade it has Peter J. Michels, INC.
    Brooklyn, New York
    Made in Germany

The handle looks like it is either a composite or a rose colored bone material with light color strands going through it, It feels real.
there is a brass design embedded in the large end of the handle and C-MON with a brass diamond at the end of it on one side of the handle.

There are tiny areas towards the top and rear of the blade that look like rust but seems to wipe away to the touch.

I would appreciate any and all info or advice.
    Thank you in advance
    Austen

Welcome to SRP. You have an outstanding razor there Austen. We don't give appraisals but that one is a honey. I would suggest you get it honed by a pro. You can find one in the member services section of the SRP classifieds in the tool bar above.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Default oh,mon, such a c-mon

A little restoration might be in order there, but what an awesome razor that should turn out to be.

    Hey Joe -- here's a C-Mon you missed!

From my understanding the stainless c-mons are nice shavers.
The scales are plastic not bone. I thought the stainless c-mons had different scales, but may be I'm wrong.
