I don't know about that exact razor, but every razor they sell is very sharp and extremely nice. From my limited experience most Sheffield razors shave very good. I don't know if that answered your question. You could search under the wiki for razor manufacturers to see when they were in business and get a rough estimate.

From memory, James Barber weren't around for very long. Something like 1810 to 1835. I've got a restored James Barber wedge from around 1825. If it is a Sheffield James Barber then it can't be any newer than around 1835. I'm not sure that James Barber ERA is the same though.

1880? 1890? Just rough guessing, I'm sure one of the real historian-type members can jump in here with some info from Goin's or some other real reference.

I think you guys throwing out older dates are thinking of John Barber. That razor looks like it's late 1800's - maybe 1880 or 90 like Stimpy said.
