Thanked: 1Thin Spot
Hey all. I just noticed this morning that the Dovo Special that I've been shaving with for about two or three months now has developed a thin spot between the spine and the edge -- the blade is hollow ground (4/8 or 5/8, I forget which) and it's noticeably thicker right by the edge of the blade before tapering to the razor's edge (which is still pretty keen).
Is this a common problem? If so, what can I do about it? Or is it even something to worry about?
Thank you, as always.

Thanked: 44Follow Grind ridge
All full hollows have a ridge that is a little thicker than the middle and is a little ways up from the edge. The ridge is a little thicker to add some stability to the edge. Is this what you are noticing ?

They don't all have it, many do. On some it's more obvious than others. It's not something that you did to the razor; it was made that way.

Thin spot eh? Sounds like you're using it too much and it's starting to lose weight. If it gets too thin it will just disappear. Now it's time to buy more razors and give it a rest so it can put more weight on.

Thanked: 1Thanks all, that really clears everything up. I probably just never noticed it before now and wondered if it had always been there.
