Stainless Steel
I particularly like stainless steel str8s, is dovo the only one who makes stainless razors? I might be interested in trying a different brand.

The one you really want to try if you can find one is the Hess #44 IMHO one of the smoothest feeling SS razor out there if you like the 11/16 Extreme Hollows

Henckles Friodur, Wacker, vintage Puma, C-Mon, dubl duck. There are a fair amount of SS razors around. The duck is hard to come by but I did score a C-Mon off of the bay last year at a reasonable price. In the realm of customs Livi and Chandler have been known to make SS as well as HC. As Glen said, the Hess is a great one if you can find one. I have a 44 that is a great shaver.

I have heard a lot of the double duck, seems to be rather popular. Why do you suposed the double duck is popular? I did not know that the double duck was a stainless.

The stainless dubl duck is rare AFAIK, and will bring a premium price if it is in nice condition. The ducks have reached cult status and there are many who collect them. They were very popular with pro barbers back in the old days because they were inexpensive, easy to sharpen and held a great edge.
On the downside, IMO, they have cheesy scales that tend to warp and they don't have jimps. I happen to like tangs to have jimps. They are great shavers though but the same can be said for most Solingen razors I've run into.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

The reason they became popular was because DD was a barber supply house and their salesmen pounded the pavement selling to barbers who liked the blades and their customers found out about that and wanted them too.
They are just consistantly great shavers and easy to maintain and are quality blades. Probably that combination of characteristics sets them into a distinct group of razors. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I'd much rather have a Duck in good condition than any modern dovo, fwiw.
However, the stainless duck will significantly lighten your wallet. Honestly, if I were looking for a quality vintage stainless, it would have to be a Friodur. There are many around, they can still be had for a reasonable price, and they are great shavers.
If you just want a Duck, you can probably pick up a nice non-stainless one for around the same as a Friodur.
