Exclamation Edward H. Erk form Columbus Ohio

I has cleaning some, what looked like and partially was, rust off my Father-In-Laws straight razor he keeps. On the shank is stamped Edward H. Erk and under that is Columbus, Ohio.

I have been searching to see about this razor online and no luck on anything. I am curious if anyone knows anything about this razor? It is starting to look like a homemade razor with the guys name and residence just stamped into it.

My Father-In-Law can't remember anything about the razor, unfortunately.

Any kind of serious talk about historical razors here usually requires pictures. I can't find an "Edward Erk" in my books on razor manufacturers, but sometimes there will be an obscure mark or letter on a razor that will send the quest in a different direction.

So if you could post some contrasty, well-focused pictures, I imagine we could make some progress. I love hunting down obscure razor makers, and so this could be very interesting.

I can't help you here but it's also possible he was just a retailer and someone else made the actual razor. That is very common.
