    Default Boker/Geneva Score!

My brother in law's mother let him have all of her father's 34 straight razors that have been sitting in a display case for the past 15-20 years. He came over tonight so that we could look through them together.

The brands (to name a few):

    Wade & Butcher
    Crown of Boston
    Crown & Sword
    AJ Jordan
    Henkel
    Boker

Out of 34 razors, about 9 were in good shape and just need a run on the hone, about 10 could be restored and become great shavers again, and the rest looked to be unusable. Of course this is all from my very inexperienced perspective.

My brother in law very graciously allowed me to keep 3. He kept 3 for himself to shave with, and the rest will be put back on display at his house.

I got two Bokers (Red Injun 100 and King Cutter) and a Geneva Cutlery with a beautiful eagle etching.

Can't wait to get them honed up and ready to shave. I'll post photos later.

Now I have to write a paper on statistical populations and sampling.

Congratulations. I'd be interested to see photos of the King Cutter to know how it compares to the 21st-century version. Any idea how old yours might be?

Here are the ones I kept:

    Boker "Red Injun #100"

    Boker "King Cutter"

Geneva Cutlery "The Improved Eagle Razor"

I got too excited and forgot to take a photo of all 34 of them.

Here's hoping you and your brother-in-law get them shave-ready in no time.

Luckily, they are no more than a mile away. I'm over there all the time. I'll get some photos.

And thanks for your well wishes. My brother in law kept a Wade and Butcher, a Henckel (in fantastic condition), and an AJ Jordan "Old Faithful" for himself.

I got too excited and forgot to take a photo of all 34 of them. Luckily they are all less than a mile from me. I'll get one soon.
