each of mine has very slight smile.
When I got the first one, I didn't know it had a smile, and John wasn't aware it did. The next two both did also. 'Very slight, maybe 1/32". When I first noticed, I lightly set the edge on a pc of soft leather. Sure enough, heel & toe weren't touching. Although I wasn't expecting it, I liked it ALOT. When I have one made, it will be made w/ a very very slight smile.
