    Default Differnt styles

Ok gents...didn't see a discussion on this so just wanted to see some opinions....I know a lot of you have a plethora of shavers and was just curious is any of you use different styles DURING THE SAME SHAVE.

For example, I could see something to the effect of after a couple days growth using a wedge for the first pass to knock down the stubble. Then on to a 4/8's for the second pass, then a small trimmer for around the nose and ears and maybe a sharp ass Japenese razor for the thick chin whiskers.

Just curious if anyone does this or if it's more just figuring which razor that will get them through the entire shave.

Apologies if this is a dumb thread as I am so new at this and only have 2 razors right now.

I don't switch razors during a shave unless I'm not happy with the razor I started with for some reason. Once I start I am looking to keep the shave itself pretty simple.

I have heard of this, mainly different widths.
I'm not one of them though.
I prefer to master the whole shave with a minimum of variables, oh and shaver must be sharp.

Since each needs to be stropped before the shave that makes for a whole lot of pre-shave prep.

I don't think there is any reason to change razors during a normal shave, unless you just like to do that. A good razor in the hands of a good shaver, regardless of size grind or point style, will handle anything you can throw at in.

I myself will typically use at least 5 razors per shave, but that is because I test shave razors to see if they are shave ready. If I only used one per shave, I'd never get through them all.

I normally use 1 razor per shave unless I have one that was just sharpened and want to test it then I use it and to be safe a proven winner.

I can't see a reason to change during a shave. Maybe if you were shaving off a full beard you might need to change, I don't know, maybe not.

I tried using a 6/8 or 7/8 for most of my face for a little while and a 4/8 for the moustache area but to be honest, it didn't make much of a difference so it didn't last long.

I see no need to change razors in the middle of a shave unless I dropped it on the floor, (which I hope I never do!)

It depends on how big your nose is
I find a 4/8 easier for getting under my schnoz compared to a 7/8
