    Default Iwasaki Question.

I looked on the SRD website and under Iwasaki Kamisori they have a chou gake 1 for $275 and a chou gake 2 for $475. The description says "The Iwasaki #1 razor is normally around 6 ½ inches long and the blade is typically around 2 inches in length and the #2 razor is approximately 7 inches in overall length with a blade length of around 2 ½ inches." Is the only difference the length or is there something else that I'm missing?

The difference is size, as you have pointed out, but not just length. The size 2 is a scaled up version of the size one, and the difference is somewhat more significant than the dimensions you quoted might lead you to believe.

The larger razor has a different feel due to the larger head and weight. I have one of each and prefer the size 2. Its not unlike comparing a 6/8 with a 7/8. Then there is the issue of scarcity. It seems like there are about ten size 1s for each size 2.

Either size...these are killer razors. I recommend them highly.
