Thread: Western States Cutlery Co.

I recently just had this blade given to me. I'm pretty sure its never been used, due to no honing marks on the spine. It has been in a medicine cabnet for about 30 years or so. It says Western States Cutlery Co. Boulder Colorado. Sorry about the bad pics only have a cell phone. My question is a date of the blade and it seems to me that its plated. parts of the blade are still mirror finish and parts are rusted. If it is, does anyone have advice on cleaning up the blade? The spine has a large mass of rust. and there is multiple pockets of rust as well. Can it be saved?
