Thanked: 3164A 7-day razor poem, Geo Butler & Co
The following poem was published in a 1930s catalogue of the Sheffield cutlery firm George Butler & Co. It was said to have been sent to the firm by a customer in 1926.
"Monday's blade is fine in edge
And neatly removes my daily hedge;
Tuesday's blade is very keen,
And leaves the visage smooth and clean;
Wednesday's blade is very sharp,
The keenest critic could not carp;
Thursday's blade, it neatly shears
Facial fungus which daily appears;
Friday's blade removes the stubble
Without the faintest hint of trouble;
Saturday's blade the beard doth reap
With such smoothness that one could sleep;
But the one reserved for the Sabbath day
Is the best of the lot- let none gainsay".
If William McGonagall had not died in 1902 I would have attributed the poem to him...
Regards,
Neil
