I DID GOOD?
I picked up a J.R. Torry razor, worcester Ma,in very good shape, had some hone wear but cleaned up very nice, and gave a good shave, not a velvet squeegee, but good, and for five bucks. Is this a good blade and worth some more time on the hone or is OK as good as it gets?-Ill put a picture up tomorrow,it has a celluloid handle, with lines like a gator.

Ya man, Torrey is a good razor. And at $5.00, that's a steal!

Thanked: 2Definitely a good deal, I just picked up a torrey for 9 bucks and the thing is nearly shave ready. I got it in the mail, gave it 10 laps with CrOx on linen and then 60 or so on leather and it was popping hairs on my arm dearly as well as my dovo.

I had a Torrey a while back that was an amazing shaver. She had a few chips in the edge when I got her but honed up really nicely and took a killer edge.
If you're not sure about the edge you've put on then it might be worth sending her to a honemeister in your area. JoeD, CarrieM and holli4pirating are all in the NY area I believe, so it might be worth dropping a couple of PM's and getting their thoughts..!
