I have been on a German blade kick for the last 3 months,Kamas,Ducks,Droeschers,Bokers,Griffons, and have been getting some great shaves. So tonite i grabbed my 7/8 Greaves Frameback and took it to the hones ( with a little more honing under my belt now) 1k 5k 8k 12k nani and then 30 laps on a coti with a light slurry, then 30 laps plain water. Agreed. Just a few days ago someone asked me that question and I honestly had never even given it a thought. They're all something worth trying!

I love how those Greaves shave. That's a great way to get back into the Sheffields for sure.

    Hi,

    I love my Sheffields

Makes me very sad thinking about what has happened to steel production in Sheffield & indeed in the UK

At least we have some very fine blades to remind us of the 'glory days' !

    Have fun !

    Best regards

    Russ

My favorite wedges are Greaves and Geo. Wostenholms, with the 7/8 width best in my preference. Especially the Greaves marked "Sheaf Works". (my avatar) It is nice to switch off from the usual hollow grinds once in a while, I agree with you.

I've been using the exact same finishing steps lately as I just acquired a Naniwa 12k. Topping it off as you do with a coti has been fantastic.

    People actually neglect their Sheffields?

At least in my case, you're preaching to the choir!

For the rest of you, prostrate yourself before the altar of the Sheffield and beg forgiveness for your razorly sins, lest the Gods of shaving smite thee from a great height for your unpardonable shunning of The Chosen Razors!!
