Please explain 1/4 hollow ground
I'm in the process of seeking my first real SR. My reading suggests a firmer blade is more forgiving, that a round point is a bit safer for the newbie, and that a slightly shorter edge might be easier to handle.
I understand what a wedge is but I'm looking for more information on the other grinds.
Any thoughts on my other criteria for a first SR?

Here's an older thread with some opinions on 1/4 hollows.
For a first razor, many suggest a 5/8 or 6/8.
