Default Gentlemen, What Have I Got?

Can anybody identify this razor for me?

It is one of 2 I recently won on ebay and as the pair were £6.99 it cost me the princely sum of £3.50

On one side of the tang it says "finest Sheffield steel forged and real hollow ground in Germany" and on the other there is a diamond logo with the letters A, S, E & G.

On one scale there is a moulded armoured arm and gauntlet (a mailed fist?) underneath a crown. The blade had a bit of rust and some pitting on it but is cleaning up well, I just wonder what it is?

Not sure this is the correct maker, but Goins' lists an A S English Steel Made in Germany g 1875-1900. Might be the one..lets see what others say.

Goins' Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings is a standard reference for knives and razors. Not perfect, but it is searchable alphabetically by manufacturer and trademarks. It gives company histories, where known, pictures and/or descriptions of trademarks, and years of operation. You can find them on the Internet via a Google search, and they are found occasionally on eBay. One will set you back approximately $25.00. I find mine very useful and it is getting well worn in appearance!

Is it possible to see more clearly the logo on the handle?
The armored hand and the crown look like the Germany stamp.

As requested here is a better picture of the logo/design/crest on the handle. Hope it helps!
