I love TI razors and especially love the Rams horn scales. I'm going to get one eventually, just trying to decide if I want the Le Grelot, Le Canadian, etc.

Rams horn scales though are just classic!

I absolutely love the feel and look of the rams horn. My TI 5/8" Celebration Silver Wing has scales very very similar to yours. Shaves great too!

Nice razor you have there. The scales look very beautiful.

You really have all Hamsun books?. I'm sorry there's only few that are translated into Finnish. I've read 'Nälkä/Sult' and 'Maan siunaus/Markens Grøde' and i think that is all there is.

Very nice blade! I got the exact same blade, but with the "Le Canadien" logo. I didn't go all out like yours, so I got the faux mother of pearl look. It's a stunning razor, but I'm having some issues honing it! I'm hoping to resolve that problem soon so that I can enjoy it every morning!

Yes, I have the complete Knut Hamsun collection. My absolute favorite author, and that is not because he was a Norwegian (and a Nazi supporter during the German occupation of Norway), but because of his fantastic books and the way he used the language. You have read two of his most famous books, but my oh my how much classic litterature you have missed. Pan, Benoni and Rosa, the August triologi, Mysteries etc. Sorry to hear they are not translated to your language.

    Talking long lost twin brother

The pure beauty of the razor, the skill needed to master the sharpest of blades, the history behind the W&B piece of art, shaving the way my grandfather father was shaving, and not to forget the proud feeling I had when I shaved my first real BBS with Bob`s fantastic gift.

So I thouhgt to myself, I need another Straight Razor, and as a Norwegian I would like something reminding me of home. I have bought a quite a few soaps and creams from a woman living at a small island called Fitjar in Norway. She (her name is Jorunn) produce everything by hand using only natural ingredients, and recently I saw that she had some beautiful Thiers-Issard Straights at her internet site.

I fell immediately for a large Razor, the 7/8 La Mouette with Rams horn. The lighthouse and seagull put on by hand in gold are drawings from Jorunn herself after inspiration from her own surroundings, and TI made some Straight Razors exclusively for Jorunn. These Straights are called La Mouette, and is only sold by Jorunn/Fitjarsoaps in Norway.

She had two left of this 7/8 Straight, and I could choose the one I liked most. Both were very beautiful, one was with a darker kind of horn, I choosed this one after some consideration.

I got it a few days ago, and have shaved with it the last two days. I was a little worried about the LARGE blade, but everything is working great. The blade is of the full hollow ground type, and is called a singing razor by TI. And yes it sings a nice song when shaving, I can put my name under that.

Now I have two world class Straights I think, the W/B 1880`s I got from Bob can not be matched by a new razor, but with my limited experience I think this Thiers-Issard is a top of the line razor when it comes to quality.

Anything handmade and with the best quality cost some money, but the 400 dollars I spent on this razor feels like an investment for life - thinking like this it is really cheap actually!!!

Now I`m just looking forward to my next Straight shave, never thought I would say that after the initial disasters last year, but time and dedication reading this forum made me break the wonderful code of Straight Razor shaving. Thank you SRP and all contributors.
My La Mouette was so excited when he found his long lost twin brother on this thread! He had this picture with his twin brother, which his mum Jorunn gave him! Thank you so much for this thread.

I am enjoying shaving with mine as I am sure you are too.

The second photo I took last night from my office in London. Have a great day.

Beautiful razor and scales, congratulations on a great purchase! My TI did not come shave ready, and was a real bear to hone. It shaves beautifully now, since I reset the bevel and finished it with a progression of natural stones. My question to you is this: did the razor come completely shave ready from TI, or was it honed by Jorun? Thank you.
