    Default Dubl Duck by Max

Last week I decided to once again to try another shave with the Dubl Duck razor I have had for a while. When I first tried it, I was not too happy with the shave. Well, I shaved with it again and loved the way it shaved. I don't know why I enjoyed it so much this time. The only thing I can think of is my technique got better which allowed the razor to perform the way it was intended. I used it several times last week and each time enjoyed it more.
I decided that I liked it so much, I wanted another. The prices for them on Ebay were crazy but I really wanted another DD. I was ready to jump in and get a NOS from Ebay when I remembered that another member had posted on the SOTD thread a Dubl Duck Max had made for him from an original Dubl Duck blank. I checked Max's website and really liked the Dubl Duck with Blue Paua LVS Scales. The next day I contacted Max. He told me I could order the razor and he would have it in time for my birthday. My wife really liked the razor and said she would get it for me for my birthday so I ordered the razor.
It arrived today.!!! What an amazing razor to look at and to hold. I'll be using it tonight and posting my adventure in the SOTD thread. Here is a quick look.

From what I understand the Dubl Duck blank was circa the 1950's. The handcuffs used as a stand were from my father and placed into service in 1952. He used them until his retirement in 1972and I used them until mine in 2007. I thought it would be interesting since the were both circa 1950's.

    Cheers!!

Jeff do you know if that's a blade that Max ground himself or something like that? I'd never before seen a Wonderedge in quarter hollow. I thought they were always really hollow blades.

What makes you say that it's a 1/4 hollow? Pretty hard to tell from that picture...
