Default Anyone know anything about MagnetoSteel razors?

Got one off ebay with a hone I purchased. Nice looking scales...blade doesn't look too bad?

Any idea where it's from or it's quality?

I think you might get better response with pictures if you can post some.

When you receive the razor, you might find out at least its country of origin on the back of the tang. Will you be honing this razor yourself? If so, be advised that it has a slight frown in the heel half of the edge and you're going to need something more than that barber hone to fix it.

I figured that this will be a practice blades. I think I will end up getting a 4k/8k norton as well.

Would the barber hone be used about the 4/8k?

Do you mean "above" the 4/8k? If so, yes, that barber hone is likely to create an edge that is more polished than the 8k.

Is there any way to tell what grit the hone is? Does it even matter...it's the finisher after the 8k? I did contact the seller...
