I have 2 both of Damascus steel they are great, fit and finish is excellent they take an amazingly sharp edge and they hold that edge forever.

I've got one at home and one in transit to me. I think they are great. Fantastically sharp and easy to maintain. I'm certainly happy to recommend them.

In your posts, John, it's clear you've had some fine, fine hardware come across your path. When you say something is pleasing, I take note.

Hate to tell you this but you can't go wrong either way. They both make a heck of a great shaver and that means you'll have to buy one of each. Sooner or later.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I am a big fan of Robert's work and have a couple of his razors in my permanent collection.

    Good Luck,

I have a couple of Butch Harner's, both regular steel and I love them. Harner does a wonderful blade.
I also have a new Robert Williams damascus and it is a real treat to shave with and a work of art to look at with giraffe bone scales.

It may have been mentioned, but sooner or later you will have a razor (or two) from both of these master craftsmen.

Yeah, I've got a couple of his as well. Great razors. I'm pretty sure you'd be happy with either a Harner or a Williams. It's really just your personal preference. It really is hard to own just one custom though.
