Default 1920 Gillette Richwood...need some info.

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum here.
I'm not a razor expert, so thought I would ask you guys for a little help.
considering you all probably know more then me.

I have a Razor in my possession. It's a Gillette Richwood.
The patent date on it is 1920.
it's in the original wooden box with razor blade case (blades stil in case)
I'm not sure what country it was made in.
I Have seen online just from doing some research that alot of the photos show made in USA. I live in Canada, but it doesnt say made in Canada either.

I was just wondering if anyone would be kind enough to give me some useful info on this razor.
    thanks

We do not do valuations, and the intent of the forum is to provide information for people interested in learning more, not selling for more.

How nice of you to roll out the welcome mat.

I'm just looking for some info on this razor. if someone knew how much it was worth I would consider that as info, but that's not all I want to know. id like to know any interesting facts about this razor. its history, its popularity, subtle differences between similiar models or year of make.

Matt, as Mods we are able to see your original thread. As it read originally Holli replied properly. We are constantly bombarded with drive by sellers just looking for values to make a buck, which is how your original thread read. I consider your reply to Holli's post rude and misleading to others that may now read this thread after you revised your post. Consider yourself warned.

Didnt change it to fool anyone reading after, I changed it because I was made aware that offerering info on potential value wasnt something done on this site, so I figured Id take that out so I wouldnt get more comments about it.

Just for your info (and everyone else's for that matter), I stumbled accross this thread AFTER it was edited, and I found Holli's reply harsh & unwarranted. If it wasn't for Joed's post explaining the initial post, I would be left with the erroneous beleif that Holli was rude to new members.

We are careful when we speak face to face with someone, we have to make sure that we don't mislead anyone. It's just as important to do so when we write on forums.

    Have a nice day !

Welcome to SRP! As Holli stated we can not give you a value for this razor but where it might have been made and other info is possible. DE's are not my specialty but someone knowledgeably may be able to give some info if they see this thread.

    thanks for your reply.
would love to know more about this razor.
found it in my late grandfathers garage a few years ago.
been holding onto it as a souvenir since then.
My grandpa was born in the 1930's, so this was probably his fathers.

after taking a better look, I noticed a "made in canada" under the top of the razor. at the bottom of the razor handle it says patented 1920.
the # on the base plate is 24112Z
