Thanked: 01920 Gillette Richwood...need some info.
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum here.
I'm not a razor expert, so thought I would ask you guys for a little help.
considering you all probably know more then me.
I have a Razor in my possession. It's a Gillette Richwood.
The patent date on it is 1920.
it's in the original wooden box with razor blade case (blades stil in case)
I'm not sure what country it was made in.
I Have seen online just from doing some research that alot of the photos show made in USA. I live in Canada, but it doesnt say made in Canada either.
I was just wondering if anyone would be kind enough to give me some useful info on this razor.

We do not do valuations, and the intent of the forum is to provide information for people interested in learning more, not selling for more.

Thanked: 0How nice of you to roll out the welcome mat.
I'm just looking for some info on this razor. if someone knew how much it was worth I would consider that as info, but that's not all I want to know. id like to know any interesting facts about this razor. its history, its popularity, subtle differences between similiar models or year of make.

Welcome to SRP! As Holli stated we can not give you a value for this razor but where it might have been made and other info is possible. DE's are not my specialty but someone knowledgeably may be able to give some info if they see this thread.

Matt, as Mods we are able to see your original thread. As it read originally Holli replied properly. We are constantly bombarded with drive by sellers just looking for values to make a buck, which is how your original thread read. I consider your reply to Holli's post rude and misleading to others that may now read this thread after you revised your post. Consider yourself warned.

That Razor is along the same line as an Aristocrat only older. Nice Razors and are highly sought after, I have a similar razor that is probably my favorite DE, A 1930's Gold Tone, Open Comb, New Style Gillette. Great shaver ! You have a very nice razor there that will shave you as long as you would want it to. I'd be shaving with one now if I owned one ! Happy Shaving.
