    Default Have you heard?

    Not sure what its made of,but a straight razor made of a gorgeous blue metal which supposedly DOES NOT come off.Has anyone seen this one?

    I'll believe it when I've used one and proven it. Chemical blue, fire blue, and charcoal blue all wear off over time or turn "plum brown." I just can't see it as possible.
    I strop my razor with my eyes closed.

    If you are talking about the blue "titanium coated" Venus razor, then you should pass on it. It's overpriced crap that happens to be blue.

    Blue blade and what looks like a multi color shank and tang. Very nice.

    Not seen it, but it sounds like you're describing a titanium coating. (See it all the time in scissors.) As far as I know the "claims" of it not coming off are true...unless you intend to sharpen it. It is only a coating. There are some good scissors made with it...and the makers charge more the "pretty" titanium that doesn't help the FUNCTION of the scissor or steel one bit.

    But pretty is pretty...and it'll grind/sharpen/hone/polish right off.

    ^all the above is *IF* it's the titanium coating like you find on shears.
