Beautiful razors! Sorry I can't help with any info though. Have you honed them up and shaved with them yet? I would have had those honed the moment I was near my gear, LOL. Hope you get to enjoy them for many years.

I'm sorry that I cannot give you any information, but let me say that those are very handsome razors. A lucky find, indeed!
Although it doesn't show in your photograph, it seems that the shell decoration is riveted onto a metal backing to form the scales. This leads me to wonder if the metal end plates (through which the nose and pivot pins pass) is part of that metal backing or added onto it.
Some extra photos for the curious would be appreciated

Thanked: 3164They are a pair of beauties!
Robinson & Thompson were merchants in New Brunswick, Canada. The New Brunswick Courier for July 1842 states:
MESSRS. ROBINSON & THOMPSON beg respectfully to announce to the gentry and inhabitanats of Saint John [...] that they intend opening in a few days with a choice selection of watches, jewlery [sic] cutlery, [...] Sheffield goods [...] selected by themselves in England which they will offer [...]
So, the razors are from Sheffield, England, and have been stamped-up with R&T's mark.
Regards,
Neil
