I plead the 5th (just in case my wife decides to read my posts)!
A buck three eighty..........that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!
:)
£5.71 on a crown and sword (my 7th!!!!), £7.50 on a shakespeare sheffield straight razor seems cheap but I've been collecting 7 crown and swords for a set and in the process seen loads of other razors (10 of them) totalling £80 over the last 3 months
Hopefully now I'm done...?
I am up to over 6000 rmb and still fighting the urge!!!!
Nothing!!!
Same as last month and same as next month.
I've got lots of razors to restore, two brushes, several strops, and more more soap than I'll use in my life.
$50 ...found an antique store a bit west of town. :)
I can't answer this question - I got some stuff that will last me several months, so technically I did not _spend_ it this month :D
Got a scuttle, some bay rum as, wood for scales, getting some G10, washers, some polishing compound, some new soaps, a few thin brass plates for wedge lining, and a few more EO's for home made AS. Trying to buy some blades on the bay but the hooligans keep outbidding me.
Ups wife coming, gotta post!
Edit: It wasn't that much honest
I haven't spent a dime on shaving this month. :)
$0
sdfsadfsadfasdfsa
$0 for many months before and $0 for many months to come.
Pabster
€ 0 for at least at six months and probably € 0 in the future as well.
Maybe we need to have razor, honon, strop ananymous. The meetings would be very interesting.
$19.94 on a F.A. Koch & Co. Faultless 6/8, Saturday written on Spine
$9.01 on a Pursley & Hitch B.S.Co. Saturday Night 9/16 made in Germany
$28.95 total with shipping included, This has been a good Month !
I bought a Boker King Cutter and a Bingham's Criterion for $60 in total.
I actually gained a razor as a gift, it was a custom from a maker, it was a lovely surprise.
The guy is a real gentleman. That is the subject of another thread.
A bit less than 20$ on my first badger brush (including shipping). It's on it's way, I can't wait !!
My wife won't give me a hard time since I used my birthday as an excuse! This was my first experience with the straight shave. My dad used a safety razor, but can't find it. So I bought a W.R. Case & Sons "Real Red Point" on Ebay from an SRP guy $61. I got a "Dovo's Best Russian Leather Strop" for $76. I picked up a "KEEN KUTTER Razor Hone No 15 Extra Quality" Circa 1915 (in original box:)) $26. Probably another $20 in soap and a cheap brush. I'm in about $183 and shaving!
:hmmm: I'm sure this is just a start, and the end to my honesty about expenditures!
If memory serves, rather an iffy assumption, $0 this month; however, the mental money expenditures have been substantial, and they have this unnerving habit of changing from virtual to real at the click of a mouse. :o
uffda
I used about a quarter of a cent on water and heating it, and probably a few cents worth of shaving soap and cream, but they were samples
so I estimate $0.0027 (adjusted for inflation since the beginning of the month)
160$ on a really nice Friodur 7/8 worked spine NOS and got my eyes on a nice 6/8 NOS str8 at 130$. But it's my birthday in two weeks so I dont feel to bad when my wife in the razors drawer ;)
I spent about $45. I bought a Semogue Owners' Club Boar brush and a tub of Cella. I hope I'll like them.
I spent $80 on a Naniwa 12k, and it was worth every penny. Also spent $40 on two Ebay junk razors that I hope to successfully cannibalize and turn into one excellent razor (a crap razor with nice C-Mon scales + a nice C-Mon razor with crap scales = 1 nice C-Mon razor).
Now that I think of it...a pretty light month!
:gaah:
Well...let's see in November itself, 0 dollars.
In October...I don't even want to know the exact value. Let's just say it's the reason there hasn't been spending going on in November. At least I also sold off a ton of my stuff in order to finance the new stuff :)
I spent about $360 in November. I purchased a new razor (H. Diamond 8000), a coticule and a new Semogue 1520.
I plan on purchasing one J-Nat in December and that is it for me for a while. :w
Wow! I amazed at the guys that spent nothing. Wether it be on purpose or dont have the money. I wish i could do that. I have enough razor's for a few lifetimes.
About $1200 so far. I've bought a Livi 7/8 (off here), a Shapton 30k and 2k, a JNAT, a Plisson travel brush and about 10-12 misc straights off ebay.
Why? Why would you bring up so painful a topic?
Why don't you just as an alcoholic how much he had to drink for God's sakes?
I guess about $400 if you include the buffing station I built.
I spent exactly $1.00 + 6% sales tax on a white ceramic shaving mug . It was on the shelf next to the William's Mug shaving soap . I didn't really need it but I thought it looked pretty cool , and the price was right .
$300.
A Frank Shaving Silvertip brush, and a 7/8 Wacker.
I was hoping to lay low for a while, but the problem I encountered is that I really like how the Wacker shaves. Now I NEED another (and that's what I'm telling SWMBO too.....I NEED another Wacker....)
Zero.... I've been laying in the cut lately looking for the "one" that just jumps right out at me. Looking for something very distinct and OLD. Although I have seen quite a few vintage razors on eBay that sold for a steal in the past few weeks, nice ones that I would not have normally objected to having duplicates of. I'll hold out for the big payday. I can feel it comingl
Enough...learning new grinds & sizes...what I thought was going to be one or two razors to last me forever is now 5. And add another strop. And another brush. And some more Thayer's. And a shaving set for my friend's b-day...you get the picture.
I bought my second Red Imp from Holliforpirating and 2 tubs of Domenico Carceni Cream. I split one tub with a member though.
I don't know how you guys do it...razors are the wallet-burners for me. It's all the "experiments" with different stones and strops and polishing media.
...and for the time being (knock-on-wood)...I'm perfectly content with my $5 brush and Wal-Mart soap. lol
I usually spend it spurts. I'll go a couple months without buying anything and then I'll have a...a...well...I don't wanna talk it. :)
$0 for me the last 2 months. Hmmm, maybe this whole SR self-sufficiency is finally working out.... for now ;)
